To provide clients with an ethical and cost-effective secure means for maximizing revenues by making the most efficient use of resources available to their business office and special education operations.
Not surprisingly, what strains a school district’s resources is no different than what strains all of our lives: the unproductive use of time. Management Advisory Group (MAG) of NY provides business operation services in New York helping school districts with better time management of their business and financial affairs.

MAG consultants can not only show your staff how to run the business office more efficiently, but also raise the confidence of your employees so they are more committed to meeting critical deadlines.
To comply with the recently enacted NYS law, the professional audit staff at MAG can review financial policies and procedures, evaluate risk factors, perform a risk assessment, and prioritize areas of interest based on assessment results. Not only will we test internal controls on all business function areas, but we will also make recommendations for strengthening any weaknesses found, monitor remediation, and report annually to the Board of Education.

Customized to the individual needs of each district, MAG professionals have performed dozens of studies: building-level and district-wide staffing analyses, efficiency studies of business operations, transportation, attendance, special education, operations and maintenance, school lunch, and pupil personnel services. We review district organizational structure, lines of authority, communications, use of technology, and delivery of services, and we provide written recommendations for improvement.
Our state aid review and recovery services all begin with an in-depth analysis of your district finances. That analysis then becomes the springboard for action, identifying the additional state aid for which your district may be entitled.
Along with the recovery of state aid, MAG will amend your annual financial reports to the State Education Department for the previous fiscal year. In addition, we will work with you to assure you are maximizing your high-cost aid through STAC filings.
MAG has secured additional funds for over 350 school districts, from very small to four of the Big Five, throughout New York. In the last three fiscal years alone, we have helped 57 school districts identify and recover over $5.1 million in missed state aid revenue.
Reviews are done on a contingency basis as we are so confident in our ability to find additional state aid revenue. You pay nothing unless we succeed. Even if others have already completed re-filing work, we will find any resources that our predecessors have overlooked.
